We have all heard of the effects of Global Warming. Whether you believe it to be just a natural cycle or actually caused by human activity, the potential risks of significant and irreversible climate change are simply too great to ignore. So we must all act NOW!

The UK is taking a lead role in addressing climate change by being the first country in the World to introduce national legislation to combat greenhouse gas emissions. The Climate Change Bill has already passed through the House of Lords where The Bill requires CO2 emission reductions of 26% by 2020 and 60% by 2050 against a 1990 baseline.

This legislation requires an obligatory Carbon Reduction Commitment which comes into force in October 2009 with trading starting 2010. Any business/ organisation that is half hourly metered and is consuming 6,000MWh or more in a year (roughly equivalent to £500,000 spend on electricity) is likely to be implicated. It is estimated that over 5,000 businesses/ organisations will be impacted throughout the UK.

If you are one of these businesses, we urge you to contact us for a no obligation discussion. However, if you are a smaller company and fall below this threshold we would still be interested in supplying you too.

Implicated businesses are likely to drive change not only within their own organisation but into their supply chains too. Thus any business in the UK, if not already morally motivated to improve environmental performance may soon be impacted by the knock-on effect of the Bill.
